Volunteers are essential to the success of St. John Vianney Catholic School. Volunteering not only helps the school achieve its mission, it also helps improve the community atmosphere of the school, which builds up the Body of Christ. Families are expected to contribute 20 hours of volunteer service per year. 
 

The Diocese of Spokane and St. John Vianney School is committed to providing a safe environment for all of our children. As a result, the diocese has developed an extensive sexual abuse policy and Code of Conduct. Diocesan policy requires that all volunteers must complete the following prior to volunteering in our school:

• Attend the Protecting God’s Children training.
  • Those participating can register for the training online at http://www.virtusonline.org/virtus/. When the participating individual arrives at the VIRTUS homepage, she/he will click on the yellow registration link on the left side of the page and then follow the directions.

• Complete a Washington State Patrol background check or an independent out-of-state background check (for volunteers who have lived outside of the State of Washington anytime during the last three years). Please provide a copy of your driver’s license. Forms and information can be obtained at the school office.

• Complete a disclosure statement. Forms and information can be obtained at the school office.
